The Magnetar is something the galaxy has never seen: a ship designed and purpose-built to allow members of all four sentient species–Humans, Avians, Octopods, and Gu’ul–to serve together. As the flagship of the newly-formed Combined Service, its mission is to patrol and protect the farthest reaches of the settled galaxy.
Charlie Cooke didn’t mean to join the Combined Service. But when disaster and subterfuge land her on board, she discovers that not everyone wants peaceful cooperation between the four species. Charlie and the Magnetar will face outside enemies and internal dissension as they travel the galaxy, riding the fine line of fighting for peace.
